Default Re: can you beat the rake on small limit games

[ QUOTE ]
I have beenj playing for three weeks on a 3-6 game at the majestic in Indiana-I know my hand selection is good even if I stay too long after flop(kk,QQ) when Ace flops. My question is this game even beatable with 10% rake up to $5.00 and $1.00 for bad beat

As usual, it depends, but you can probably about break even.

Specifically, it depends on your opponents. You're being raked 1 BB per hand, or about 3-5 BB per hour depending on level of table action, which is ridiculously high. So there are certainly lineups that, no matter how good you are, could not be beaten with this structure.

If your opponents are VERY bad, you might stand a chance. However, to stand that chance, you're going to have to play very clean, disciplined poker. If you're really chasing KK and QQ multiway when an A hits, your game likely has so many leaks that there's no way you can overcome that rake.
