Default Re: ***SSSH Official NC/LC Thread September***

lol, LO8 is so easy (I'm assuming FR)

Here's some basic advice I've picked up.

1. Play to scoop. Only play hands that have multiple nut potential for both high and low ( Ad2dAc3c being the best example). Only play high-only hands in late position and for deception. OH8 is mostly about folding preflop.
2. Only draw to the nuts.
3. Very few hands are raising hands preflop in early posiiton.
4. Don't overplay the nut low (especially if it's A2). You will often get quartered.
5. Don't overplay sets or non-nut full houses. It is often good to wait for a safe turn to raise (lot's of drawing hands have favorable equity vs a set on the flop)
6. If the board has a 3-flush, your nut straight is no good, if the board has a 4-flush, your nut straight got a little bit better, if the board is paired, somebody has a full house.
7. Don't play second best hands, only draw to the nuts (hi and lo).
8. If you have the nut straight on a hi-only turn and it's 3-handed and one other player is going nuts with you, be very careful if the betting is uncapped because you might not be as far ahead as you' think. (I.e. pot is multiway and you're splitting at best and a lot of cards on the river counterfeit you or quarter you if the low completes).
9. A lot of your profit comes from squeezing at the right time, and going for overcalls at the right time. Don't get greedy and iso-raise a player on the river in a multiway pot when you don't have the nuts both ways.

And most importantly
If the board reads A-A-K-K-2 and you have A-8 you do not have a full house
