I'd suggest that you use something called 'coins'. They have some that are exactly the size of quarters for approximately $0.25 a piece available at many establishments. There are some smaller denominations available called 'nickels' and 'dimes', which are available for $0.05 and $0.10 respectively. You can even get into 'pennies' at $0.01 each. HTH.
