Default Re: France\'s Election is Today

The second round was today (for anyone still paying attention), and Nicholas Sarkozy is the winner by 6 percentage points.

I'm a bit disappointed because I was hoping to see a crazy socialist chick plunge France down the poop-hole, but perhaps this is a good sign.

There were (or still on-going) riots in the streets after the election results were announced.

I love the French - they are so enterining.

If only the French had listened to Royal's threats and voted her into power! Royal threatens violence if she loses

""Choosing Nicolas Sarkozy would be a dangerous choice," Royal told RTL radio.

"It is my responsibility today to alert people to the risk of (his) candidature with regards to the violence and brutality that would be unleashed in the country (if he won)," she said."
