I think it's not so terrible for PBob to conflate the strict legal sense of "stealing" with a looser ethics-based one. It's not the best English usage--and I'm a total nit about these things--but I think it's basically clear what he meant, and I also think he's basically right.

I understand that you might disagree about some of the above, but I think it's important to see that there's at least a sense in which PB might not have been incorrect, or even imprecise (there are fairly precise colloquial senses of "steal").
