Running it twice always favors the hand that is ahead at the moment. So if you really wanted to reduce variance, you could run it twice, or even run it ten times in a row. The more times you run it, the better it is for you if you have the best hand. Just think if you were in a HU match against the devil and you were playing for all your money you have(or your soul), you get AA and go all in on the flop of 223 rainbow. and the devil calls and flips up KK, "how many times would you like to run out the turn and river?" the devil says, you reply "22 times of course!"
