oh i forgot one story i thought was funny:
a dealer pushed in whose name, according to her nametag, was Xiaoshan. the guy on my right, after winning a pot, asked the dealer how to pronounce her name.
"it's pronounced, 'Xiaoshan'" she said.
"Shao-shuh. Thanks, Shao-shuh. I guess you get asked that all the time."
"Only by white people," i said.
