SB checks, I bet, 1 fold,UTG + 1 calls,SB folds

I bet, UTG + 1 raises, I raise, UTG + 1 calls

river comes 6[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]
I bet, UTG + 1 calls.

This is a decent flop for me, I wanted to bet out to fold ppl who may make a higher pair, or at least not give free draws. anyone check call here?
on the turn my thinking with the 3bet is that he could just have Ax, should I just have called down?
UTG + 1 having called on the turn, i bet out again believing i had the best hand.
generally too aggressive? am i over-rating the strength of my hand?
