1) Betting is a good way to get action from better hands, unless you are totally convinced he raises AK/AQ/KQ and 99 here. The 1.5 AF has me second-guessing hero's read.
2) I'd rather check/raise/call than bet/3-bet and sometimes /call, or worse, bet/3-bet the flop and bet/call the turn.
3) Check-raising sometimes gets UTG to put two bets into the pot whereas facing him with two bets sometimes will not.
