I don't think borderline is the right word for preflop. If you are going to play, I wouldn't recommend limping though.
I also don't know why would assume BB is leading the flop as a bluff. Since he's acting first, I'd figure he's the least likely to bluff, although I agree with the raise.
I think I'd also prefer betting the turn as well and then showing down for free rather than checking the turn. That way, if you want one more bet going in, I'd prefer it be after only one overcard comes to your pair rather than a second.
