Whats wrong with touchscreen?

Nothing is wrong with it. You also won't actually touch the screen due to the embedded proximity sensor technology, and apparently, it will ignore unintended touches.

3.5-inch wide touchscreen display with multi-touch support and a proximity sensor to turn off the sensor when it's close to your face

BT - oh maybe I misunderstood the touch screen patent they were going for. I always assumed that they were using the same technology in their widescreen Ipod - which of course, if you actually touch the screen is retarded.

Can anyone confirm / deny / explain the multi-touch / proximity sensor technology in this thing?

LFS - I've been on Cingular for a while in LA, it's good.
