Marlins get: Mike Nannini, Hee Seop Choi

Cubs get: Derrek Lee

and

Pirates get: Bobby Hill, Matt Bruback, Jose Hernandez

Cubs get: Aramis Ramirez, Kenny Lofton

Jim Hendry rarely gets credit for these moves and both of them are a big reason the Cubs have a talented team this year. Also, the reason they were able to make these moves is because Hendry was the Director of Player Development and Scouting Director before he was promoted to assistant GM and built up their minor league system from crap to being loaded with prospects that he could use in these deals.

Edited to say: Yes, I know I am on Hendry's nuts a little bit in this post, but I have a lot of respect for him even though some of his other moves have not worked out. He will be the first one to take the blame for the 2006 debacle of a Cubs season.
