in your opinion you would have been able to get more money from the player? Why do you think he mucked his cards? Because he thought he had a winner.
He was going to muck to your raise anyway and he figured he would avoid the hassle. If he really thought he was good he would have been thiunking like you were, that he was about to get shafted out of half the pot.
