i don't get it. what is scary? drive next to some of the other cars and go to sleep. why are you paralyzed by one weirdo parking next to you looking for some dome? my little cousin is in first grade and i don't think she'd be that scared but if she was she'd scream and yell, "stranger! help! i need an adult." While kinda juvenile, is still a better way to handle it than you did. are you the guy that crosses the street to avoid looking at bums?
