I can see why you MIGHT be considering this, but the best question to ask here is, if YOU didn't have 6k to lend him, what would he do? That should be his correct play. You cannot rely nor expect a friend to ever help someone out in a situation like this. He broke a law, and after he has been caught, seemingly expects someone to cover his [censored] with money? Its not your problem homey, let him sort his own [censored] out.
edit: I can maybe understand giving a close friend some money for a lawyer....MAYBE... but thats it in a situation like this!
