No, the support you show for the team directly effects the outcome of their games.
You should know this.
By declaring that you won't fly back for the Rose Bowl, you have have decreased their NFI* immeasurably (I am using that word correctly) and, hence, have decreased their chances of making said Rose Bowl.
The reverse-jinx only works if you declare that you'd give anything to go to the game, but you find you're unable to due to incarceration/restraining order/do not fly list/severe allergy to roses. Then they would be almost guaranteed to go, but it's too late now.
