I guess. I turned 21 my senior year, so in the summer I would have been working full time, but I can see where many would be 21 at the end of their junior year.

And you forget how many youngins these days are on the 7-year graduation plan. Or the "I still haven't found myself, so I think another couple years of grad school would be nice" life plan.

But seriously folks... a LOT of people hit the WSOP with families in tow. I see moms + kids hanging around outside the Amazon room all the time trying to see dad. Summer is definitely an easier time for most northern-hemispherians to get away, and since the vast majority of WSOP participants are not professional poker players, catering to them is good. Whether that means "june" or "august", I don't care... June weather is typically a bit more humane, but it's not really all that different.

Jeez, I would think that's the worst kind of vacation to take the family on. If dad is in a tournament, he's gone all day and night, and gets back to the hotel at 2:30 or 3 am. He's not going to feel like getting up at 8 am to spend 3 hours of quality time with the family before going back to the WSOP.

If he's just there to play cash games, he can spend the day with the fam, but he's going to be playing on little sleep if he stays up very late. Even if all his family members are 21 and over, there's not much that's more boring than railing somebody for more than 30 minutes, especially if they're not players themselves.
