Have him get a lawyer ASAP obviously. Cops can't just kick in doors and raid houses without a search warrant. The only time they can forcibly enter a home without a warrant is if they are in hot pursuit of a felony suspect or they believe a person is in imminent physical danger. A lawsuit probably won't be worth much here, but the mere threat of it should get any charges immediately dropped, damage paid for, etc.
