Default Re: Chat banned by Grimstarring douche in flipament (WITH NO CURSE WOR

MY REPLY:

This is ridiculous. This chat is from a Private tournament first of all, and was directed at a player who was deliberately and purposefully cheating at the game we had set up to play, ruining the fun for the rest of the people who had agreed and abided by the rules we set forth prior to the tournament. Adding the the absurdity, the player's name would certainly be offensive (CHODEzilla) to many people.

Here is the thread if you would like to read through it and note the posts from the username "Chodezillarocks". I think it will be quite clear who should be getting banned.

STARS RESPONSE:
Hello Weir,

Thank you for your email.

A Private tourney doesn't have special chat privileges. You're still
playing on a PokerStars table and that can be viewed by other players.

If you'd like to elaborate on why the user ID 'Chodezilla" is offensive,
then we'd be happy to respond to your request.

OTHER STARS RESPONSE:
Hello Weir,

Thank you for contacting PokerStars.

PokerStars is committed to provide a safe, secure, and fun environment for
everyone's enjoyment. Please note, offensive, abusive, and or derogatory
comments will not be tolerated and the appropriate action will be taken in
each individual case.

Also, The fact you posted your password on a public forum made your
tournament open to any players that read your post. If a player joins a
table where you are having a predetermined game and doesn't wish to play
in the 'race', they are under no obligations to do so. I suggest that in
the future you are more selective of where you post your password.

Please note that our Chat policy applies to every single table, regardless
if it is a private tournament or not. As such your chat suspension will
remain in place until the 08-07-2007.

If you have any other queries, please do not hesitate to contact us again.

MY SECOND RESPONSE:
The name is offensive because the word "chode" is a vulgar term used to describe a penis which is wider than it is long. The fact of the matter is, his screenname is offensive, and the things that I (and others) said to him were in response to his malicious actions, which took away the fun of the tournament for the rest of the participants. The fact is, no one at the table was offended by the chat and his reporting of chat violators is just a continuation of these malicious actions.

STARS LAST RESPONSE:
Hello Weir,

Thank you for your patience while I reviewed this matter.

Regardless of the circumstances, there is absolutely no excuse for the
language that you used in this event. I have reviewed, and included a
couple more instances of extremely vulgar chat. When something offensive
takes place, we expect the offended party to report the incident to
PokerStars and then let us take care of policing the game. We do not
accept "he started it" as an excuse.

The chat ban will stand in this case, and your chat will be restored after
the one month period has expired.

Now, regarding the user id which includes "Chode". The term is actually
slang for the perineum. It's borderline, and it is a user id we are
reviewing at this time.
