I'd hold off on purchasing those ETFs right now. The reason is the market is too high and amateur investors, like yourself, are racing to get their money in. Well it's too late. But to Vanguard it doesn't matter, they must buy when you give them their money.
The market will experience a correction here very soon. Once people start crying that the sky is falling is when you put your money in. I'd recommend CDs or some other liquid investment until we get through the inevitable downswing.
