easy call on river; your chopping 90% of time.

if hes chopping 90% of the time and losing 10% of the time isnt it an easy fold then?

no b/c the money in the pot from flop and turn makes up for the money we will lose on the last call on river.

2.25 in pot already, villain bets 2.25 = 4.50

we need to call 2.25 to chop a 6.75 pot

the 9x we call and win we split the initial 2.25 so we make $1.12

the 1X we call and lose, we lose $2.25 so if in fact the chop/lose range is 9:1, calling here is very profitable.

if this is confusing, imagine this:

there is 230$ in the pot, and villain goes all in for his last 3$ on river. Its 3$ for you to call. (same exact board and assumptions) do you call? yes. b/c if you dont, your losing that whole 230$ 100% of time. same situation here. now if the pot was 0.00 and he bet 2.25 its an auto fold b/c ate best your chopping (89% of time) 10% you lose, and 1% you win. - this is what you are thinking about.

but b/c there is money in the pot, before his bet, we need to call/ fold depending on the % we chop in realtion to teh amount in the pot.
