Not having a chance for improvement is not good enough reason to fold.

When I have 87 of clubs and the flop comes T96 with two spades, I have "no chance for improvement" and I'm facing potential spade draws (and paired boards). Doesn't mean I should fold -- I have the best hand now and need to dodge some outs.

Obviously in Hero's case he doesn't have the current nuts, but he still may have the best hand often enough to justify continuing in the hand.
