South Point is just fine. No real difference from it and any other locals casino. The OP seems to have a major axe to grind and is throwing out speculation on all the games. He is unarmed with facts as can be seen by his using Photoc's .3% in every post.

My number was a tad off, I remember it being .3% for some reason. Actually, the no peak with a 10 showing is .1% added to the house edge in a 2 deck game. The current house edge at South Point's bj game is .39038% using the Wizard's house edge calculator (total is .29038 and adding the .1% to the total). Thus increasing the edge from .29 to .39 (33% increase).

Is the blackjack at South Point actually played with no-peek rules (rather than the tables just lacking blackjack detectors)? The only place I've personally seen no-peek was in Europe, where it is standard. When I played at the old San Remo (a gross place, now Hooters and presumably still gross) the tables didn't have blackjack detectors. Instead, they used a highly advanced peeking technique: the dealer would bend the hole card up slightly and look to see what she had.

Obviously, so long as the dealer is peeking (and not colluding with the players), the lack of a blackjack detector does not change the house edge.
