Default Re: Ban effect on CP?

Why not ban people who smell bad too?

[/ QUOTE ]
Sometimes they do.

[ QUOTE ]
Or (insert your least favorite non-English speaking people) who want to tell bad beat stories in broken English, that does drive me crazy too and is bad for my mental health.

Earplugs.

[ QUOTE ]
Do we also ban people from eating unhealthy food at the tables?

[/ QUOTE ]
That's their own choice and little impact on my immediate health or laundry bills.

[ QUOTE ]
Let's not forget banning those that fail to wash their hands after using the bathroom.

[/ QUOTE ]
Really, people should wash their hands before they use the bathroom, considering they've been handling chips, cards, and money all day.

I really don't see how any of your strawmen have anything to do with the topic at hand. I also don't whine about smokers. I play in home games with them because I choose to. I also went to a casino this weekend that allows smoking. I would not, however, ever work in one. I am lucky to live in area that realizes how ridiculous it is to give special privledge to addicts in such a way that negatively and immediately affects everybody else, but in a service economy, forcing service personnel to suffer smoke 8-12 hours a day is rude at best.

First of all you need to look up the definition of a straw man arguement. Next if your solution to save my mental health is earplugs then my soultion would be an oxygen mask for the non-smokers.

Since I've played B&M poker longer than you have been alive and never seen or heard of any poker player ever being banned because he smelled bad I'm confident my experience trumps your anecdote.

Please explain further how smoking is more dangerous to you than me pissing on my hands then handing you already dirty poker chips. Every 2nd hand smoke theory is dangerous for you has been either debunked or had inherent flaws in its' control situation in the first place. Granted smoke can be annoying even to other smokers but stating it is more dangerous to you than my personal waste products being transferred to your person is over the top.
