I think the only way he is laying down this hand is if you put him in a position to make a decision for all his chips. Your turn and river bets were only about half the pot and he had to figure his jacks were good and he was getting 3 to 1 to call on both streets.

I think your turn bet is ok, but when he called that, I would have just checked behind on the river. He called a quarter of his stack behind you with that board which means he is letting you bet into him and he has the A, he could have hit a flush or he has a high PP that he thinks is good. Assuming how he feels about his hand, even if you wanted to push him off of it, 1/2 the pot on the river wasn't nearly enough and I wouldn't want to push my whole stack in especially if you already think he has JJ, QQ, or KK and you have to push him off of it.
