Preflop, I should have folded. I wouldve avoided the situation entirely. But since I did not, and am now in the situation, perhaps you can help.

I liked the pot-size bet on the flop and if I had been shoved, I think I would have, most likely, called it.

On the turn however I feel like I would have been better off checking behind and seeing a free river. (I decided this when I went back and looked over the hand) This would have been better, I think, because if my opponent was willing to C/C a pot-sized bet on the flop, he would likely call my all-in on the turn because his check (even if it does mean weakness) does not mean he is folding. Also, I am given a chance to fold if I miss on the river and decide that my pair of 7s are no good. Lastly, I may be able to extract further value if i spike a 7 or an 8 on the river (less likely to win another large bet on the end if a spade falls, I'd imagine).

I'd like to think that I would come back and look at this hand regardless of whether or not I had lost it, but I'm not entirely sure if I would have. I DO know, however, that I felt uneasy about the turn shove but felt as though that's what I was "supposed" to do. Is it?
