The whole point of the "ZOMG SEC is soooo good" debate is that the depth of the conference is good that it makes it extremely difficult to win a national championship.
Also, the Pac-10 doesn't have anyone in title contention either, so I don't understand your point on this at all.

well, it's kinda like being an sf giants fan. after a while it becomes pointless rooting for my own team and all the joy of the sport becomes rooting against others
