Funny but true re: Cowboys.
Usually you just pick the team in the city you grew up in. Here in the Philadelphia area and most areas that is true. The native Philadelphians that are Cowboys fans are the little kids that got picked on a lot, or are just contrarians in general, or are misearable people who hate their own life.
Also, they are really fair weather fans. I haven't heard anything from them in years since the Cowboys have sucked for a while. But once you have a good Cowboys team, they come out of nowhere.
Conversely, if you truly love a team, you don't have any choice but to suffer when they suck or they disappoint.
So to the OP, maybe pick a team that reps your personality?
