What's to say, it's like a much thinner iphone without the phone function. I've got the 16gig and cracked it, so now I can use google maps/weather/stocks/etc... as well. I like it, and this way you can keep a phone like a blackberry for the more serious stuff.

you 'cracked' the ipod touch?
when i was buying a new ipod i went with the 160 gig one and decided to wait for touch v2 since i heard the first edition one has some features that are less than convenient or lacking all together.

Yeah it's quite an easy procedure, and this way you get all the iphone functions, so it also works as an email device, and you can add things to your calender.
And lots of custom programs like blackjack are available now.
