ADDENDUM: Does shortstacking retard your poker growth?

IMO, YES and NO

Honestly, if one shortstacks the way I'm recommending, it's still an awful lot of poker. You'll be putting your opponents on ranges and adjusting to your opponents ranges. You'll learn position. You'll learn different postflop lines against various opponents. Best of all, you'll learn to become a beast at the 25BB and under poker game, which correlates to alot of tournies....and, IMO, tournies are where the real donk money and the occassional big score are at. It's weird, but shortstacking lead to major breakthroughs in my MTT game.

Then again, you'll retard yourself in one way.... you'll never learn how to properly adjust to facing and the fear of future really massive bets compared to stack size. You won't have to make the judgment calls for 30BBs against a SLAG with two pair on the turn with 50BBs behind.

So, yes and no

you'll learn alot, but it won't make you the next fullstack champion. You won't go backwards unless you stop reading opponents and try to autopilot every move.
