yeah, makeup refers to an ongoing staking arrangement:
player x enters 9 $1 tourneys and does not cash in any of the. player x then enter a 10th tourney and cashes for $10. the entire $10 goes to staker y to makeup for the previous lost buyins.
in a non-makeup deal player x enters one tourney, cashes $10 and ships $1 for the entry fee plus whatever agreed upon portion of the profits.
