This is a tough spot. Has he been overly aggresive himself?
Being a $5 and considering your description I think I call here expecting to be ahead more often than behind. He could be doing with this a tons of draws and top pair / second pair hands. Also the fact that the turn does not complete any straight draws help me call this.
