Full Moon Party is a must, beware undercover police tho - they'll take everything you've got or its a cell full of rats.
The south has got all the best beaches and parties but there's banter to be found up north too. Also check out Cambodia if you've got time, it's supercheap (much more so than Thailand), "happy pizzas" are everywhere and the bud is sooooooooo good.
