Default Re: Review of Crown Royal Cask #16?

I could tell you a little about the CR Cask No.16 since I work for Diageo at the plant where Crown Royal, Crown Royal Special Reserve, Crown Royal XR, and Crown Royal Cask No.16 are made. Cask no.16 is the newest product that just went into production in mid September. You should be seeing the 1 liter and 375mL bottles on the shelves any time now. Although I've never tried the XR or Cask no.16, they are apparently very good whiskeys. The XR has a slight vanilla taste to it, and is very smooth. The cask no.16 is also supposed to be very smooth. The Cask no.16 is finished in white oak cognac barrels from France which gives it a slight hint of a dried fruit flavor. DO NOT MIX THESE WHISKEY'S WITH ANYTHING!!! Mixing with rootbeer, cola, or juice just takes away from the way these expensive whiskey's are meant to be drank. Just serve straight at room temperature or on the rocks. As mentioned in an earlier post, regular Crown Royal has a sweet taste because it's blended with caramel.

CHEERS!!!
