i haven't read this whole thread, but i highly doubt these lovely ladies or anyone similar has been brought up in it...these women front metal bands with or without an accompanying male vocalist...some of them help with writing as well...

this lady just has a beautiful opera style voice, that combined with their music works very well, her attitude and aappearance also help give the music an ethereal mystical quality that i really like...

+Anette - (current singer of Nightwish)
Anette has a much different style than Tarja, but i think once people can separate the old school verse the new era of the band they can still appreciate it...she has a much more pop style of singing as well as her appearance...I saw them in concert about two weeks ago and she put on quite a performance, and her voice holds up quite well live...

very young lady with a beautiful voice, this band is a little heavier than nightwish and has a bit different combo
of opera style vocals with a more death grunting style male vocalist...
