Not necessarily, though in my opinion you should keep your AF above 2.0.

Here's where I would put the ranges:

Below 0.5 Very passive
0.5 - 1.0 Passive
1.0 - 1.5 Neither passive nor aggressive
1.5 - 2.0 Somewhat aggressive
Over 2.0 Aggressive

Originally I was going to put 3.0 down as "very aggressive" and 4.0 as "kamikaze," but in general the difference between 2.5 and 3.2 is much less than 0.5 and 1.2. As long as your AF isn't manically high, anything above 2.0 is good.
