I know we want (and should have) more teams in title contention, but at the same time it's hard to argue the program is falling apart or about to if that's what we wind up with. In any event, Bill Martin isn't firing him unless things got real ugly, so it's dumb to put him there.
Anyway, he's retiring so it's even stupider.

if you can't fire up and prepare Hart, Henne, and the rest of your team (in front of 90k fans ready to kickoff college football season) to open with a win at the Big House vs a DI-AA opponent you need to step aside or be fired
it's 2007, there is no loyalty to coaches anynmore...you win games or you move over and bring in somebody else
