Internet Texas Hold 'em is okay, and a good enough starting point, but SSHE is a better book imo and doesn't really need a prerequisite. There are other basic books that I like such as Hold 'em Poker, Getting Started in Hold'em, Low Limit Hold'em too. All good books, but inexperienced players can start with SSHE just fine. A common critique of SSHE is that the game conditions are a inaccurate, and I agree with that. Even so, it tackles the fundamentals better than the other books.

Anyway, I wouldn't go anywhere near WITHG for a while, there's so many things in between. There are several other books and some very good DVD sets out as well.

I'm getting the same way about books like LGB for NLHE and West's 7Stud book.
