Is Jens Lekman anything like
this dude?

I have no idea; I've not heard of that dude before. I think Jens is more of a cross between Jonathan Richman and Morrissey, myself-- a little bit lovelorn, a little bit witty, a little bit melodramatic, same flair for arrangements as Moz, etc.
But here, you tell me:
"Sipping on the Sweet Nectar"
"The Opposite of Hallelujah" (live)
"Friday Night at the Drive-in Bingo"
I dunno, some people don't dig it, and others have told me they absolutely loved it. I think if you listen to the whole album (
Night Falls Over Kortedala) straight through, you'll have a better idea of why I like him. I got this album and took to it immediately and didn't listen to anything else for about a month. I don't expect anyone else to like it THAT much, but hopefully they at least find it good.
Okay, I listened to the first song that came up on Youtube for Paolo Nutini, and... I guess it's comparable in some ways, but he feels like much more of a lightweight than Jens, both in his arrangements and as a songwriter. (Shoes? Really? Who cares?)
