I'm basically the same as you. Immediately after I shave there is still a faint shadow of where the beard is going to grow. Within 72 hours I'm fairly rough.

I've given in an allowed the beard to grow on a few occasions but usually shave it off after a month or two. Keeping the facial hair well groomed is just as inconvenient as shaving daily.
