That is exactly how I would play it. The flop bet could be smaller, but $1 is a nice round number that won't provoke much thought.

I think this is an easy fold on the flop. If you call the $2.89, I don't think you will get more than $2.00 back on average. A lot of that is from spiking a jack (worth about $0.70) or a running straight (worth about $0.30).

Typical microstakes players do not make many check-raise bluffs. It's ok to give check-raises a lot of credit until you suspect that someone is check-raising as a bluff frequently.
