I'm going to get lambasted, but Gates started moving back for the ball, meaning no PI. D-back was just trying to catch up.

Just keep making up the rules as you go along.

I'll just watch the [censored] play, thank you very much.

The receiver can't turn around and move back and get a DEFENSIVE pass interference call, that's just the way it is.

You shouldn't bother watching the game, you obviously have no clue what the rules are.

Aren't you two rooting for the same team?

That doesn't mean I can't call him out when he posts something incredibly stupid.

Let me get this straight...

I was watching the game with my own two eyes, and I saw Gates turn around and start moving back. This, to me, says that the contact is, at best, incidental. You can't honestly say you'd flag a DEFENSIVE player when the OFFENSIVE player is at least partially responsible for the contact???

Add to that that the ball was underthrown and incomplete at best if Gates doesn't come back...how in God's name do you call PI on a play like that?

[/ QUOTE ]

It's not so clear cut as they're riding you about it being, but the issue is that the DB wasn't even looking for the ball while the TE was making a play at it. That's a pretty standard call to make, all things considering.
