This is part of the "discovery" process. It varies from state to state, but you should probably be able to file a Request for Production of Tangible Things (or the equivalent) if the stuff you want to inspect is personal property inside the house, or a Motion to Inspect (or the equivalent), if the stuff you want is affixed to the house (like damaged walls, light fixtures, etc.).
