I think he has you crushed, and is not trying bluff at a missed flush draw. I always get suspicious of players betting into a card that looks to improve my hand. I think he flips a 10-9 or even could have A-5. I like the reasoning that if he had a 9 he'd let you bet at the ace, but some of these players aren't thinking like that. They just hit the pot button and are not even thinking about betting amts.
