Re: NCAA Football Week 11
[ QUOTE ]
Anybody else go back and forth thinking that the big east is a top tier conference, then that it is a "mid-major" conference from week to week? Like when South Florida was #2 in the nation, they beat Auburn in Auburn and Auburn beat Florida and I thought the Big East was the best conference in college football. Now, not so much.

Well, if South Florida was good enough to beat Auburn on the road and they go 1-3 in Big East play, doesn't that suggest the Big East is even better? That they can beat up on a team who's that good. The only key non-conference matchup they've lost recently was UConn losing to Virginia.
I think the Big East is middle-of-the road. They're not as good as the Pac-Ten or the SEC, but they're pretty equal to the Big XII and probably slightly ahead of the Big Ten. Also, if there's any conference with a BCS berth that's close to being a mid-major, it's the ACC. They don't have one team in the Top 15 by the Sagarin predictor.
