Re: PL$25 flopped boat - where can I get more value here?
Flop, bet a little, but not much more. Since paired rainbow flops are very unlikely to have hit our opponent, I normally cbet about the 1/2 pot you did, but since we have a monster we want to bet a little bit more to start building the pot.
Turn, you have the same fear everyone does when holding a monster - any bet we make is just going to cause our opponent to fold and we take down a small pot, leaving us with a deep feeling of regret. However, we should be playing for profit maximization, not regret minimization, and if we want this pot to have any chance of being a big one, we have to bet this turn. Bet enough to entice him to call if he does have an A, a newly-picked up flush draw, or perhaps some type of PP. Somewhere just below 2/3 of the pot I would guess (this is where our small flop bet hurts us a bit: increasing our bet on the turn shows strength).
