Default Re: What is the current fashion in men\'s tie knots?

Since this thread grew legs, I will mention that I went with my old standard half Windsor.

The event was a little strange on the scale. It was an ashes spreading ceremony at Berkeley Marina with a party at the Claremont Hotel afterward.

While this was supposed to be an 'informal' wear-what-you-will event, it was an occasion to mark the passing of my stepfather-in-law. I thought a suit might be overdressing but felt that I should acknowledge the man with some sort of effort in dress.

Dress codes in California can be confusing at times.

Attendees ranged from his old pals in suits to work shirt and jeans. I wore black slacks, my standby funereal black tie, and a lime green dress shirt (since it was a party after all).

The fact that I have gained a few pounds since I used to work in ties was clear to me. Man, a tie just don't hang right if it isn't going straight down
