It depends on the villains.

If they are observing, then you need to c-bet hands you miss, check hands you miss, bet hands you hit and check hands you hit.

My c-bet sizing generally follows this pattern. If the board is dry and I am heads up, I bet less. If the board is wet, and/or I am up against two opponents, I bet more. This of course also applies to my value bets as well.

And as a poker player, you need to recognize players who are floating. This means firing a second cbet on the turn. Notice that the bet on the turn and your overall cost for the hand is less if your flop bet was less.
