I always hate this spot. Not wanting to allow myself to be bluffed off of my hand I generally bet. Unfortunately, it seems like more times than not I am frustrated when they call or shove the turn because having bet it means I am now pot committed.
I think a better line is to be willing to let it go here. If he was the moxy to bet at the turn as a bluff then he's saying he's willing to play for stacks and we are probably beaten anyhow. If he checks behind then I probably c/c about 1/2 pot on a non heart river.
