Default I\'m old and I need help

I realize this is probably a dumb post and is not "technical" in nature, but not sure where else to place it (I'd get reamed in OOT).

Anyway, we're putting together an online survey that's going to go out to a group of teens, and one of the questions we want to ask is "how would you like to receive communication from us in the future?"

among the obvious answer choices (email, regular mail, phone calls...) one of our group wants to include Facebook and MySpace.

Now, I'm generally clueless when it comes to these sites, but I don't think either of these represents a way that we can communicate outward to this group independent of email. Am I wrong? Is there something equivalent to an email address like a "facebook address" that they could give us that would let us use facebook to communicate to them?

thanks for your help,
